Short Description of the Storyline

Genre: Thriller

Description: A women wakes up every morning and see's a silhouette of a family member at the end of her bed every morning. As weeks pass she begins to see her more regularly, for example when she goes to work/college.

As time passes, the sights of the family member becomes more vivid as she sees what happened to the family member in more and more detail. This continues for a while until the revelation of how he/she was murdered. As the women see's him/her more and more, her behaviours starts to become extremely abnormal and the people around her start suspecting she is going crazy and needs professional help. The women hears the family member talking to her repeating her name and trying to talk more about her murder.

In the end, the plot twists and the main character's the one who's been murdered and watching her living family members. This is revealed when we see her family visit the dead girl's grave.

Genre: Drama
Description: A boyfriend and girlfriend have an argument about each other’s aspirations and then the girlfriend storms out, while still extremely mad at her boyfriend. Her boyfriend then goes off to make a special surprise for her, however while he is buying her all the supplies for a surprise dinner, a terrible accident happens to him. His girlfriend then texts him, getting mad at him for ignoring her, meanwhile he is laying unconscious in a hospital bed.

Description: A couple move into a new house and are extremely excited. However, after a few days of everything being perfect, strange things begin to happen. They start hearing noises in the night, which sounds like someone else is in the house, and every time they go to check it, there is no one there. Things then get worse, during the day cupboards start opening and items start flying off the shelves. The couple are terrified but don't want to leave their dream home so they are determined to find out what’s happening and stop it.

Genre: Action
Description: Two best friends, Jeremy and Alex,(around 18 years old) decide to go on a road trip. On their way there, they meet another group of boys, around a similar age, who they befriend and continue there road trip with. The two sets of friends then start having disagreements and it turns out the group that Jeremy and Alex met are actually planning to steal their car and belongings. Jeremy and Alex find this out but keep it to themselves as they try to prevent it happening and leave before they can do anything. However, when they try to leave, their tires have been slashed and then a fight scene emerges between the two groups. In the end, Jeremy and Alex win and steal the other groups car in a rush bid to get away from the group. They then make it home and return to their normal lives.

Storyline: Woman stays in a B&B, next morning she's unable to leave the house we see her pacing the rooms several times as she tries to escape. She steps out of the front door but it cuts to her stepping in to the house through the back door. Film reveals she's been killed?

Idea 1 Brexit Morning
Genre: Drama/Comedy
Plot: The film begins with a character walking down to the voting station. As the character walks down to the voting station, they appear nervous about the vote. The character enters the voting station and goes into the voting booth to cast their vote, which is Remain. After this scene, it goes to black and then there is a black card that addresses to the audience a section of time has gone by.

The next scene opens with a clock alarm going off and the character switches it off, before crawling out of bed. The character looks at their phone, and notices that they have a text alert saying that Britain has voted to leave the EU. The character gets dressed and then makes breakfast. While eating breakfast, the TV turns on and shows the breaking news; Britain has voted to leave. The character leaves the house and makes their way to work. When they arrive at the office, the phones are going crazy, and one of the employees manically shouts: "THE VALUE OF THE POUND HAS DRASTICALLY DROPPED.. THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END!!!"

The character runs out of the office, and goes out into the street, where there are people parading and singing out the day of independence.

Scared for their life, the character proceeds to race home, and sits down in the lounge, and switches on the television, and turns on the news channel to see that the Prime Minister has resigned.

The character screams at the television and then it cuts to the character bolt up in bed, screaming. It is revealed to the audience that the character was simply having a nightmare.

Idea 2: Run
Genre: Thriller
Plot: Set in a mental hospital, the plot follows the story of a woman, who was sectioned to a mental hospital, following the death of her long term boyfriend. His death has long been a mystery, and is unsolved by the police. The psychiatrists have attempted to make her talk, but have never had any success.

Strange things begin to happen in her room, and doctors find the word "run" written on the wall in blood, which she has done by slitting her wrists, although she has no idea why she has done that. During the plot, there is flashbacks of her relationship. One of the flashbacks is of the couple going for a run. In another flashback, we see her at the hospital, when the life support of her partner is turned off, and the mother screams at her, saying it's all her fault, and the girlfriend runs out of the hospital.

Throughout the flashbacks, it is revealed that her boyfriend had died in an accident when they were taking a jog together, up a rocky hill. They were joking around, and the woman screamed to run, and scared, the boyfriend did so, lost his balance, and fell down the rocky hill, causing serious injuries.

Because of what happened, she believes it is her fault, and that is why she is admitted to a mental hospital, as she was going crazy, thinking about that fateful day. As the film progresses, she begins to lose her mind significantly, and starts acting in a way that would suggest she had been possessed.

As the film comes to an end, the doctors begin to get more worried about her, as she screams at the doctors many times, telling them to run, and saying that everything is their fault. The story concludes, as the woman escapes from the hospital, in which then, she runs up the hill, the same from the fateful day and falls down it, ultimately killing her.

Idea 3: Halloween Escape
Genre: Horror
Plot: The story centres around a group of store assistants, who are working in a Halloween store in throughout October. As Halloween draws near, strange things start happening in the store, when the store assistants are closing the store down for the night.



The strange things that happen include the animatronic displays actually coming 'alive', strange music playing, even when the shop music has been turned off, and costumes randomly floating.

 

On the night before Halloween, when the employees are shutting every down and getting ready to leave, the store doors lock shut on its own, and the strange things begin to happen. The employees, scared, have to work together in order to survive. However, all goes wrong, and eventually one by one, the employees are gruesomely murdered by the animatronic Halloween creatures.

Idea 1: My first idea for my film is that the film follows the main character who has been put into a coma, due to an accident that occurred earlier in the story. The film then enters the memories of the person who is in the comatose state and relives the moments before the incident. As the audience enters the mind of the main character, we see that the incident may not have been an accident and instead an attempted murder. Genre: thriller

My films are similar to these, as they are psychological, thriller films that deal with characters mental states and have unique twists involved with the film. 

Idea 2: My second idea for a short film is a documentary type film which follows one or multiple main characters through a project that they are creating. Genre: horror. similar films to mine are the Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield. These films are similar to mine as they are found footage films, that include documentary elements to them.

Idea 3: My third idea for a short film is that, the main character needs important surgery and is put in to have it done. however the injection given to sedate him, just paralyses him and therefore he is aware of what's happening and can hear and feel everything. The character discovers that the doctor treating him, is reluctantly working for an evil war lord who sells body organs on the black market. Genre: horror/thriller. A film similar to mine is Awake. This film is similar to mine as it too follows a man who is paralyzed during surgery.
